SUMMARY OF Notel melbourne

As we arrived at Notel we had already been sent our check in instructions and were aware it is self-serviced with no on premises staff members. The check-in process is somewhat different to a standard hotel, you enter via a hidden door on Flinders Lane and walk up a fire exit staircase with graffiti pink splattered walls until you reach the top. You then tap your phone with the key app and are granted access onto the rooftop.

Once you have entered the rooftop you are taken back by unusual design of this unique hotel. There is 6 silver mirrored 1970’s airstream trailers on top of the bright red turfed rooftop. Scattered over the rooftop there are beanbags, table and chairs, jenga as well as a variety of cactus. Each airstream has its own terrace attached with a table and chair to sit and have your morning coffee with stunning views of the Melbourne CBD.

The trailers are retro themed, with pink walls including the bathroom (with a shower big enough for two people!). A queen size bed is up the rear end of the trailer, with a detachable IPad mounted on the ceiling above the bed for watching Netflix (also included). There is a mini fridge which comes stocked with local produce as well as ciders and a bottle of wine.

Notel’s location couldn’t be more ideal due to its central Melbourne position, close to attractions like Flinders St Station, Southbank, MCG as well as many amazing restaurants such as Kisume, Chin Chin and Sake just to name a few. Included in your stay is a complimentary visit to Holey Moley. It is within walking distance of Notel and not only has mini golf but also a bar with cocktails and a full menu.

Overall our stay at Notel was definitely memorable, I have never stayed in an airstream trailer before and didn’t think I would get the opportunity unless in the United States, but got to in Melbourne- how cool is that!
